Join award winning artist Neil.Pizza for a 4 week summer series exploring four different artistic techniques. Whether you're a curious beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, these small-group workshops offer a welcoming, hands-on environment to create, explore, and play.

  • Painting with Gouache

    July 19th, 10am-1:30pm

    Discover the vibrant world of gouache! From basic brushwork to layering and blending techniques. Neil will guide you through the unique properties of this versatile medium. Great for illustrators, painters, or anyone who wants to expand their 2D toolbox.

  • Painting with Oils

    July 26th, 10am-1:30pm

    Intimidated by oils? Don’t be. Neil is not a master oil painter— he’s also a generous and approachable teacher. This class demystifies the medium, making oil painting accessible, fun, and approachable for all levels.

  • Scratchboard Illustration

    August 2nd, 10am-1:30pm

    What is scratchboard? Come find out! This unique medium offers bold, high-contrast images with a tactile process that’s super satisfying. You’ll learn how to build textures and light through subtraction- and leave with a finished piece.

  • Mixed Media Painting

    August 9th, 10am-1:30pm

    Combine paint, ink, collage, and more to create a one-of-a-kind mixed media piece. Neil shares techniques for layering, composition, and combining materials in unexpected and playful ways. All levels welcome— experimentation encouraged!

Meet Neil.Pizza

Neil.Pizza is a multi-talented illustrator, painter, and mixed media artist with a BFA in Illustration from Ringling College of Art & Design. His professional journey has included everything from Sign Painting in San Francisco to Sr. Illustration for clients like Audi & Microsoft, to Creative & Art Direction. A former Crowd Collective resident artist, Neil brings technical expertise, a love of creative exploration, and technically trained skills, processes, & practices to every class.
