Meet the Artists: Eleonor Boström & Helen Howe Braider, April 15th 12PM-4PM

April 16-22, Open by appointment

“Stillness of Space” is a collaborative exhibition of the work of painter and carver Helen Howe Braider and ceramicist Eleonor Bostrom. Together, they will create playful scenes using mixed media and their original perspectives to surprise viewers with a lively collaboration of delight and glee. Each piece will be a playful exploration. Each artist offers a suspended moment of expectation while using curious juxtapositions of materials, thus offering a fresh vision of our world. The sculptural quality of each piece will capture a gestural moment, when the artist's hand has caught an expression with its energy suspended in unexpected delight.

Eleonor Bostrom has been a successful international ceramicist for many years playing with dogs in teacups that poke you in the nose or teapot handles with tails. In this exhibition, her dogs will finally be liberated to dance across wooden sticks or climb out of a giant cup. Eleonor joined the Crowd in October, 2022 and has been an integral part of our studio family ever since.

Helen Howe Braider carved stone and wood for many years in Europe before transitioning to painting which she considers visual play. She juxtaposes pure geometric forms of irregular planes with hand carved figures in curious situations on found wood. Helen was the first artist to join the Crowd and has helped shape our creative community from the beginning.
